ZipMounter is a utility for mounting archive files as local disks on your Mac. Open and view archive files (zip, rar, 7-zip, gzip, tar, bz2, and even .pkg files ) in Finder, as if they are read-only removable disks connected to your computer.
Archives appear on the Finder’s desktop as if they were a read-only thumb drive allowing you to interact with them using just the Finder file system. Simply use ZipMounter to open the archive file (drag and drop or set to default for the file type) and it appears as a thumb drive (removable disk) in the natural Finder’s document management and windowing system of macOS.
Features:
Mount archive files as local disks / volumes
View the directory structure without unarchiving
Preview / open files / dirs in the archive like regular files
Integrates seamlessly with Finder
Supports zip, rar, 7-zip, gzip, tar, bz2, xz, cab and many other formats
You can mount archive files in the following ways:
Right click on an archive file in Finder -> Open With -> ZipMounter
